In our research group, we are planning an on-site survey to collect some environmental data (e.g. air temperature, relative humidity and others). The site survey will be carried out in a traverse mode along pre-specified routes for about an hour. The main goal is to eventually study the relationship between the collected on-site data and satellite derived-data (from Landsat and ASTER in particular). However, considering that satellites have specific overpass time and our survey spans over more or less an hour, my question is: for how long can the values from the multispectral imagery be representative? or how to approximately correct for such variability? Is this possible? I will be grateful for some recommendations to general rules of thumb or reference articles.
Thanks in advance
