I have to perform an induction experiment. If i preserve my induced fungal culture at -20C then could it affect the level of expressed genes? For how much time I can preserve it? Or do I have to use it immediately?

if u want to preserve mRNA use solutions like RNalater or similar, else freeze in liquid nitrogen.

I did a lot of RNA extraction from fungal samples and I always stored them at -80C after snap freezing them in liquid nitrogen, when not using them directly. Though RNAlater works well for a lot of other tissue types, it, from my experience, reduces the efficiency of RNA extraction from fungal material.
