I've prepared 100 mL of 1mM HAuCl4 solution to prepare gold nanoparticles and used 50 mLs of it in February. I Stored the rest of the solution in a glass bottle wrapped in foil in dark conditions as normally done for stock solutions. I'm hoping to prepare nanoparticles again. Can someone please advice me if I can use the stored 1mM solution for it. It's about 8 months old. I'm new to this field and I'm grateful for your advice. Thank you..

Please don't use your old solution. Time bady effect the characteristics of nanoparticles (Au as well) in solution phase (especially owing to aggregation and change in surface properties). Please see following papers

I found that my prepared gold nanoparticles are agglomerated. I'm going to prepare them again using the citrate method. I want to know whether it's okay to use the 1mM HAuCl4 solution I prepared 8 months ago to make the AuNPs. I used the powdered form of the salt and dissolved it using millipore DI water and stored it in a glass bottle in dark.
Dear Navoda Wijesuriya , in principle stock solutions of HAuCl4 are stable for long periods of time if they are well protected against light. The usability can reach easily 12 months as described in the following paper:

You could be confident about your stock solution while it doesn´t show any change in appearance (it is clear, there are not deposits, etc), what should be the case if the bottle is properly closed and the bottle stored in a fresh and dark environment.
Another thing would be a dispersion of nanoparticles, they can easily show aggregation as Santosh K. Tiwari pointed.

The best scientific practice will always start with a fresh chemical/Substrate/Materials for each new experiments. It will help you to recall the steps, procedure, concentration, quantity etc.

The saved conditions of the HAuCl4 solution are the most important issue for preserving the solution. If you saved it in light-protected conditions and 4°C, you can reliably use it after ultrasonication and/or strong stirring.
