Hi, I am doing data analysis for my dissertation project.
I used four instruments, and among the four tools... one of tools is supposed to have one construct in the EFA analysis according to the article that validated the tool before...but, when I conduct the EFA for my sample, two constructs were shown.
In this case, what can I address in my paper for the result?
Please, help me.

there are two things to consider here:
1. When you use instruments that have already been developed and you do not itend to change them considerably, your should do CFA instead of EFA.
2. Please provide more information on your EFA (method of factor extraction, rotation, criteria for factor retention, overall loadings, communalities etc.)

Excellent question. Adding Marcel asking. The first validation was conducted in the same culture as you are doing now? (e.g. individualistic -> individualistic?) You may have difficulties in the interpretation of the items. The construct could be different in a different culture. Could you describe if there were items adaptation/translation etc.?
In Smith et al. (2013), he describes this process. Also, in Henrich (2010) work. Reference below.

Jung Eun Kim If your data is based on different contexts (e,g,. country, culture, specific group of people), it may happen that your factor structure differs from the original scale. So, just report the results that you obtained. You may refer to the following paper to see how it can be reported. one of the scale's factor structures in this paper was different from the original one. Hope it helps.

Due to cultural difference your respondents may perceive the questionnaire differently which affect the way the items are moving together. However, you need to label both your factors and make it dimensions of key construct, but consider the nature of convergence.
