I am currently using the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale and the Generalized Self-Efficacy Scale (GSE) to measure the psychological strength of young adults. Finally I have to create psychological dimension. In my analysis, I conducted an Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and identified two factors. Following this, I performed a Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA), and the model fit indices were all satisfactory. However, the correlation between the two factors in the CFA is .16.
I am concerned about whether this low correlation poses any issues for my analysis. Could you please provide some guidance on whether this correlation is problematic and, if so, how I might address it?

More information would be helpful. Does your model assume that self-esteem and self-efficacy are distinct but related, or does it assume some other two-factor solution? Either way, I'd recommend taking the factor correlation at face value. It is what it is.

I don't know your sample size or whether the correlation you found is significant, but it does make sense to me because I see self-esteem as much more inclusive than self-efficacy. I can also imagine people high in self-efficacy but not so high in self-esteem.
