It is well known that with the increase in temperature, the short circuit current value for a solar cell increases. However, while exploring some theoretical/simulation studies, I have observed for some materials that Isc could show decreasing trend with temperature. Could this be related to the lack of information required to compute the results or there could be some possible reason for this to happen?

I had recently found a paper in this regard (Article Temperature dependence of the short-circuit current in MIS solar cells

), however, this explains the observed trend in terms of thickness of the dielectric oxide layer. In usual solar cells, such layers are not regularly incorporated, and this is why I want to know the experts' opinions in this regard. Kindly share your views.

Thank you.
