I am flowing 3mL/hr or oil medium (continuous phase) and 0.3mL/hr of Water medium (disperse medium) to produce a picoliter liter size droplet during experiment in a 200um channel. I am using syringe pump (velocity driven). PTFE tube of dia 500um of length 10cm is connected btwn syringe and inlet of microchannel. Considering the fact that velocity of fluid increases entering a smaller channel and if I want to simulate only the device what should be the inlet flow rate/velocity that needs to be set in simulation.

The velocity does not change since you are working in microscale (laminar flow regime) and you dictate the flow rate. If you have the same condition in simulation as experiment then you can set the same flow rate for simulation. That is what I did for my simulation and experiments.
Surprising, I am unable to get matching droplet size. Hence I posted this question. I am flowing 3mL/hr of Oil in a 200um square channel in my experiment. What should I set velocity in simulation in m/s units?
