I recently ordered USP grade urea from Fisher Scientific (catalog number U16-3) and made a 10M solution. The solution stays cloudy even with gentle heating. Upon filtering, the solution becomes clear. I have been making 10M urea for 5+ years and have never encountered this. I tried using water from a different source and it didn't help. Even the 8M solution I made is cloudy. Has anyone else had this problem?
