MSC expanded using FBS as supplement is being used for various clinical trials. Which is the most acceptable FBS (country of origin) for production of clinical grade cells in a GMP facility?
You should also look for platelet Lysate, MSC grow better with it and it doesn t have animal products. PLTmax is one example and stem cell technologies has a similar product.

Some years ago, FBS of Australian origin was the most indicated for clinical cell therapy products. However, as Diego has indicated you, FBS is actually preferred to be avoided in GMP-grade cell therapy products, being mainly substituted by platelet lysate (commercially available or provided by a Blood Blank) or by chemically defined mediums (no supplement as FBS or platelet lysates is needed).
