Hi Everyone. i have some confusion. i am currently working on crack growth study in mild steel using Paris Law. But the problem is how to find the constants?. Second i am applying fatigue load as pull the specimen for 0.5 KN and release it, measure the crack growth and then repeat it....... I will put a notch and then will apply load between 0 and 0.5 KN constant amplitude. How should I calculate delta K for Plot according to Paris Law.

ASTM E647 is the standard you should be following for fatigue crack propagation testing. I think you will find answers to most of your questions in this standard.

I think, for the parametrs you can get them from inverse problem by combining the experience with the simulation. For delta K, in your case it's K because your delta Stress is the stress it self since you unload to zero.
