I'm looking for experimental data about the free surface elevation downstream of a horizontal cylinder in shallow water flow. Ideally for different Froude- and Reynolds numbers in a 2D setting. I'm not interested in the detailed flow structure, only the free surface shape is relevant.
Does anybody know some literature/papers?
For a submerged hydrofoil (Duncan 1981, 1983) such data is available.

It's not that easy to find the experimental data for free surface since people mostly focus on the numerical stuff. However, you can search Dixon's doctoral dissertation (Wave Forces on Cylinders), which has some experimental data relevant to partially submerged cylinder in waves, and the free surface as well. Most importantly, it's horizontal cylinder with partial submergence.
