I received now for the second time an article to proofread, which has not a lot in common with my submitted preprint. I am using the siunitx- and chemmacros- packages, and almost everything resulting from expressions of those packages got messed up. Some examples:
Some highlights are presented in the attached image. It took me in both cases about 3h to fix things which were initially correct submitted. I have the impression the "production department" does not even compare their result to the initially submitted version, does not speak english and is overstrained with the job. What annoys me the most is this inconsistency, it looks like they manually adjust things but treat it completely different at each occasion.
Complains at the support are ignored and in addition, the entire production process takes longer than a month. I wonder how this can happen. I even used their article class, so that it should be done within seconds. This is in my opinion not acceptable at all!
Has someone made comparable experiences and how do you handle it, besides trying to not publish in an elsevier journal anymore?
