We were using EDTA as anticoagulant for long instead of documented Sodium Citrate for ESR by Westergreen Method . On comparison with Sodium Citrate tubes we found that the values obtained by using EDTA were higher which is contrary to that of other authors. The results were significantly different in most patients.
