How does volume (and of what?) contribute to free energy? And entropy, isn't it included implicitly in the ensemble?

I would like to add, depending on the applied ensemble (nvt vs npt) you should consider the free enrgy as Helmholtz (for nvt) or Gibbs (for nvt). In one of my studies I considered nvt and discussed the entropic contributions using classical thermodynamic correlations
