I found this book at Gonzaga University's Bookstore and its title attracted my curiosity and interest to read and find out more about its content. The cover of the book has written comments from prominent academicians, professionals, and authors in their field of expertise, such as the following:
1) "A dazzling weave of theory, textual analysis, and practical proposals for the transformation of Judaism. Engendering Judaism take Jewish feminism to a new, richer, and deeper level." Comment by Dr. Judith Plaskow, Author of a book titled: "Standing Again at Sinai: Judaism from a Feminist Perspective."
2) "This is a truly watershed book, Rachel Adler combines thorough knowledge of the Jewish tradition, an understanding of its historical context, a deep love for it, and a wonderful creativity within it . . . Not everyone will agree with her, but nobody will leave this book the same as when they began it." Comment by Dr. Elliot N. Dorff, a Rector and professor of philosophy, University of Judaism.
3) "[Adler's] ideas are original and provocative . . . Her inclusion of Talmudic texts, accompanied by an innovative feminist interpretation, solidly roots her varied proposals in tradition." Comment by Dr. Judith Hauptman, Professor of Talmud, Jewish Theological Seminary.
I am currently reading it in progress and I find its content very interesting and progressive . . . and very challenging.
