An interesting one page article below, written by Prof. Arlen Meyers in BBN Times, was insightful with regard to edupreneurship. I think that future higher education will change from traditional to an envisaged level that emphasizes 2 important outcomes, to be realized in graduates, and these are : SDL "self-directed learning" and edupreneurship. The future graduates ought to have been developed as confident persistent persons, with broad horizons, who can innovate & who can achieve goals. They have to be in contrast to many of the current graduates who feel impotent or disable in front of the usual or expected challenges of life after university.

I think digital education is more useful in the current situation.

Thank you very much for the valuable information. While education in the field of entrepreneurship is very well developed, it is the other way around with Entrepreneuship in Education. In Germany there are only a few start-ups in the edTech sector and innovations in formal education (schools etc.) often enter the system from outside. It is exciting to see how edupreneurship will develop.

Nevertheless the question remains: What is the product to sell? Can you define it and precisely specify the source of profit? sdg

There is a concept of an entrepreneurial university - see e.g. the U-multi rank (https://www.umultirank.org/) which also ranks universities on entrepreneurial criteria. (Such as the number of alumni start-ups). ACERE and IECER both have conference papers on entrepreneurship teaching.

Hi all, thanks for comments and references. Just to make clear, where I see the difference between entrepreneurship education and educatioal entrepreurship (Edupreneurship). In the entrepreneurship education, we focus on methods and content to impart entrepreneurial knowledge and skills. This is also important for edupreneurship. However, here stakeholders of educational processes (learners, trainers, teachers) should become entrepreneurs themselves. The products are innovative methods, services or tools for the education sector. The focus is therefore more on the area of innovations or business models in education. In Germany, the start-up rate in the education sector is very low. Is it similar in your countries? Do you know studies on start-up activities in the education sector?

Yes, both edupreneurship as a new approach to innovation in schools, digital education or teacher training, and in the field of entrepreneurship education, including new concepts regarding e-entrepreneurship, this is a field in education that is currently developing rapidly, which is related to the current rapid progress information technology ICT, Industry 4.0, the fourth technological revolution currently taking place, etc., and can be an important element of education 4.0.

Might be slightly off topic. Please see the paper below on implementing digital training in manufacturing. Interestingly, we have started doing the classroom based training again but utilise the digital training as a prerequisite to classroom based training, so that we can gauge the overall understanding the individuals already have prior to the classroom based learning approach.

I suppose this is an example of what you are talking about. We looked at what educational institutes were doing, during the pandemic to teach students. We had a similar issue as we didn't want to put on classroom based training due to the close quarters environment associated with classroom based learning so in the short term created digital training which can be utilised anywhere i.e. home, office, shop floor and at any time.
