I have been trying to deposit Ni using ebeam evaporation. I initially used to use graphite crucible for deposition purposes. However, there were few occasions where the cryopump has shut down even before starting the deposition. I just turn on the electron gun voltage, and current and starting to increase the current, and suddenly the cryopump shuts down (Error: NO CRYO POWER). The Ni has not even started to melt, the shutter is closed, and there is no splash of particles in chamber. Also, the pressure is stable (usually 1.6*10-6 Torr)and does not increase. Just the cryopump loses its power. I changed the crucible to tungsten and put new Ni pieces in it, but the problem happened again after a while. Therefore, I believe the problem can not be coming from crucible.

I am seriously looking forward to hearing your opinions...
