I am currently researching deletions encompassing promoters within the dystrophin gene. When looking at deletions involving exons 1-7, Dp427p promoter is deleted. However, when looking at deletions involving exon 1 exclusively both Dp427p and Dp427c are missing. I would be very grateful if someone could provide me with answers as to why this variation in promoter presence occurs.
