During simulation of hydrogen storage tank, why only one material properties is used ?

In the case of sodium alanate based simulation of the hydrogen tank, three materials are formed during a reaction i.e. NaAlH4, Na3AlH6 and NaH. While simulating the hydrogenation and dehydrogenation reaction, why only one material properties are given as an input. Since with time material properties will change with the formation of new species.
