I just bought a small handy UV-C light to "desinfect" (COVID-19) parcels, keyboards etc.It is battery charged, has 12 small LED's, Voltage/current : 5V/1A, Power: 7W, Bead wavelenght 270-285 nm, optical power 20mw.
So to clean a keyboard: how much time is needed to this properly and at what distance?

UV treatment is able to inactivate the virus present on the surface. but UV light does not have sufficient energy for penetration of things. I think UV able to inactivate the virus but not for killing..Bacteria can be killed by the UV light .
A team at Columbia's Center for Radiological Research is experimenting with so-called far-UVC, rays whose wavelength of 222 nanometers makes them safe for humans but still lethal to viruses, the center's director, David Brenner, told AFP. At those frequencies, he explained, the rays cannot penetrate the surface of the skin nor of the eye.
That means they could be used in closed and crowded spaces where contamination risks run high, with potentially huge promise for use during the current pandemic.
UV exposure - The most used procedure to make sterilisation in Bio-safety zone to avoid any contamination of other microbes . Since this type of exposure can be also used in C.O.D - So destruction of Covid infection is most probable .

I answer you according to my experience. 280 nm is the wavelength with which we work on protein fluorescence to excite tryptophan and tyrosine. In general, this wavelength does not alter the structure of the proteins studied (denaturation is not found, even for a long time). Why should it alter the structure of the virus capsid, considering that the virus also has a lipid envelope?
I do it another way. I got a bottle of absolute ethyl alcohol (the one you may use to make liqueurs at home) at the supermarket with a small spray bottle and with this tool I spray a little cloud of alcohol on anything that I want to clean up from the presence of the virus. It is efficient (the virus resists 100% alcohol only for seconds), it is inexpensive, with a liter (€ 15-16) I easily clean many household items for at least a month, it evaporates quickly and leaves no traces, and I also clean reusable masks. What do you know most? Above all, I am sure that absolute alcohol is lethal to the virus, while I am not sure that your UV lamp is so.

Consuming Vit D3 supplements - around 400 to 1000 IU / dayfor adults is essential as it contributes to reducing the risk of contacting COVID 19 infections.
Personally consuming Vit D3 supplements might be better than exposing to UV light, especially in countries such as UK, where exposure to sunlight is inadequate to begin with.
