Hi, I've synthesised a hydrophobic monomer (dissolve in DMSO) that formed nanoparticles after polymerised in water. I'm trying a nanoprecipitation method to encapsulate hydrophobic drug into nanoparticles but still the drug is not encapsulated. is there any suggestion of methods to use. thanks

If the problem with your system is that the drug escapes the NPs; during their assembly, then, you may try different solvents or mixture of miscible solvents. For example, ethanol with DMSO or acetone with DMSO. The same may goes for the anti-solvent ( the precipitating phase), try different anti-solvents. I may suggest using water as an anti-solvent, as it possesses the highest DEC. you may also need to add a surfactant to the the antisolvent.
But if the problem is that you are not able to precipitate the NPs, then try emulsification method.
