Double peak at 18s in RNA Bioanalyzer?

hai everyone,

I'm having a problem with my RNA sample after Bioanalyzer analysis. my RNA (isolated from midgut and hindgut of beetle) showed double peak at 18s RNA. I already conducted non-heated, since heated will caused 28s breakage.

here I provide screenshot on 1 of my results. A total of 8 samples were analyzed and all of them have the same feature.

Dear David Farringdon Spencer,

yup, it's not an isolation artefact. There is a paper on 28s rRNA breakdown (Winnebeck et al. 2010. Why does insect RNA look degraded?. Journal of Insect Science. )
