I have a question about the domains of the small ribosomal subunit. Does the body include the shoulder, the platform, left and right foot or does the platform not belong to the body. I would be grateful for a good reference, that give a clear definition.

thank you for your answer, According to your first reference the body would include the platform. In these old days, there was no information about the fold of the rRNA. However, recent structural paper and reviews avoid here a clear statement on that.
