Hi! In my attempt to write the review of related literature (ROL) of my master's thesis, I decided to have this subsection on the epidemiology of my outcome. As I look for studies on this, there's been lit. reviews, and narrative reviews done to ascertain the risk factors of my outcome of interest.

I'm wondering now which is the more appropriate and prudent approach to cite findings from these studies. Do I cite the review studies per se or do I have to trace back the articles that they reviewed and cite these instead?
