Reduction in annual rainfall, climatic changes, improper utilization, insufficient catchment, polluted water sources, and exploitation are all related to the water wealth in future. Linking of water bodies is a good option but vulnerable when in the hands of private. How can be handle this situation when GOD has bestowed the water as "free for all" to continue and flow through the coming generations. Water privatization, hegemony and civil society: What Motivates Individuals to Protest About Water Privatization?
The article takes the case of protest against water privatization in Ireland to show that protestors with high levels of instrumental motivation as opposed to ideological motivation are more likely to protest. In order to explain this we uniquely combine Klandermans’ social psychology of protest with Gramsci’s theory of hegemony. By bridging these two bodies of theory, we provide an interdisciplinary account of the reason why protestors serve to uphold the exact power structures they intend to challenge. We argue that for water movements to be successful they must focus equally on both their instrumental and ideological motivations to ensure that power structures are confronted. It is very enlightening to hear about the Red Sea Dead Sea project, an effort to desalinate the water from the Gulf of Aqaba, pipe the potable water up north to Israel, Jordan and Palestine and use the brine to refill the Dead Sea, an ambitious project.

Well said that private companies can be operationally efficient, but they would be driven on a business model. Whereas water as it is a life essential commodity should not be treated as a tradable commodity. No wonder better management of water resources, sharing and usage is required, it should be only for common good in a welfare state. Government can take support for financial resources from individuals and philanthropists and recognize their noble support through suitable recognition of honoring them by inscribing their names and thanking them (which shall last long for more generations)
Private companies should not be allowed to operate, manage or own public drinking water. It should be the responsibility of local governments, to ensure safe and affordable water supply for all.

Thanks Prof. Krishnan for pointing out the typo error. In fact the word 'not' was missing in the first line. It is corrected now. The second line however, amply clarifies the intent.
Water has become an industry and corporations are trying to capitalize on it. Water will be a more valuable commodity even compared to oil very soon. Privatization can only become a threat to the future as has been demonstrated by privatization of so many other things like health care.
This is sure to happen.... in the process of making better return on investments these organizations will raise the price, cut service to customers who can’t pay their bills, .........
