During recording eeg activity, we found a decrease in oscillatory occipital activity during and after the object is visually recognized. Any suggestion?
EEG behavior is very dependent upon which frequency band is being observed. Alpha band (approx 8-13 Hz) power decreases (i.e. "desynchronization") is a well known phenomenon thought to correspond to visual attention.
I've attached a link to a widely cited review paper and an Intro to EEG book chapter that discusses this briefly.
