I have expired Ni-NTA resin(Exp: 2012/5) and i want to use this resin for my purification process. i want to know that if expiration date will effect on the binding capacity of Ni-NTA and generally on any other chromatography resins.
Does it have any effect?

In most cases, when stored under proper conditions and in their original packaging, unused ion exchange resins may be stored for longer than their recommended shelf life without experiencing a decline in their physical properties.
I think you should test the resin by repeating the experiments already carried out by such resins and comparing the results. The results may show degradation level of resin
Most probably, it will work as far as it was not subjected to sever condition like thermal load for example. You may test small portion repeatedly and compare the results.
Did your expired column work? Bcoz I am having an issue with the column which is expired
