Can any one tell me please if solution consists of PVA and little ammount of surfactant like SPAN 80 in distilled water can be considered an organic phase? and why? an article I read called this solution an organic phase and I don't know if that is true..
I should not call typical colloid solution as organic phase and concider organic phase only "not water part" obtained after coagulation of the solution.
I do not think it can be called organic phase. Maybe the defination of the article you read inferred specific meaning. It is just colloid.

Dear all, there are numerous factors whether to say solution or dispersion or even bicontinueous phases. To quote, the affinity between the surfactant and PVA, the CMC of the surfactant, ....and others. The following paper provide more details. My Regards
