I wonder whether by sonication of let's say, a 1/1 paraffin oil (viscosity 250 mPa*s, density 0.87 g/cm³) o/w is favored also for emulsifiers like Span 20 (1 % m/m emulsion).

May it be that ultrasonic dispersion of higher viscosity droplets (oil) is more efficient than dispersion of lower viscosity droplets (water)?
