Simple answer is no, PUF does not stop any attack. It is an identifier, not a countermeasure.

Could a PUF-based scheme be more tolerant to side channel than another PUF-based scheme? Sure, but I doubt that is the question.

It does not stop side channel attack. In contrast, one of the problems of PUF is the side channel attack itself.
