Agricultural productivity in the Semi-Arid Lands (ASAL's) faces challenges of climate and weather variability. In order to alleviate the negative impacts of climate change, several mitigation strategies such as Climate smart agriculture, use of mulching among others are being promoted. In the context of mulching, are there studies that empirically justify the use of mulching in dry-land agriculture? Second, Does Mulching reduce the cost of farming in terms of inputs such as fertilizers among others? Any literature on this will be highly appreciated. Thanks.
