We plan a contingent valuation of ecosystem services. The study will be based on surveys. We want to apply it in fifteen different countries. Is it necessary to approve the project in ethics committees in each country or is there an international ethics committee for research with surveys?
There are 3 regulations one should abide by-
1.Institutional
2.Publisher
3.Government regulations
If approval from any of the above is obtained then ethical review board approves it.
Do not underestimate the difficulty of your proposed task. You will need ethics approval in all countries, you will probably need authenticated translations of your survey in all the languages used, you will need to evaluate the internal and external validity of the questionnaire, compute its Cronbach alpha, find the test retest reliability for each language version of the questionnaire, at the least. Is there no other way of getting the information you want?

Would like to know more on this. How to obtain it through various countries. I was only aware about the institution/ government sector ethical committee.....but how multi national approval will be obtained???
