Is it not unethical to pass derogatory remarks about a country and its researchers? The same has been done by Jeffrey Beall, University of Colorado Denver, Colorado ([email protected]) and his post appeared in Scholarly Open Access. In the penultimate paragraph he has openly criticized the Republic of India and every Indian. Is it not unfair? Kindly log on to the following link and see for yourself. I think that you are being too sensitive. :-)
This is a blog post, not a scholarly publication. The author used hyperbole, which is a very common literary emphasis technique. By definition, hyperbole is not to be taken literally.
If it were literally true that every person in India wants to be a scholarly publisher, it would not be an insult.
Pointing out apparent fraudulent practices of certain specific publishers might be considered to be an insult to that alleged publisher, but pointing out fraudulent practices is certainly also very ethical.
