This question is a bit naive. I was under the impression that AT8 recognizes pSer202 & pThr205 but does not necessarily indicate tau aggregation. However, a collaborator informed me that AT8 is canonical for aggregated tau and the original paper from '92 states that AT8 detects Alzheimer's pTau. I'm looking for clarification as to the purpose of AT8: is it indicative of tau aggregates, pathological pTau, or simply phosphorylation at S202/T205?
