A computer code has been developed to solve the nonlinear pendulum differential equation under damped and undamped conditions and is now for SALE. The code (written in FORTRAN programming language) uses the finite element method to solve for the angular displacement (theta), the angular velocity, the potential energy, and the kinetic energy (please see the attached file). All types of forces acting on the pendulum could be handled such as mechanical forces, fluid forces, and electromagnetic forces. In addition, other differential equations could also be solved that includes the cosine of the angular displacement function, the tangent of the angular displacement , and hyperbolic functions of the angular displacement.
