Hello everyone,

At our lab, we currently perform manual co-extraction of DNA and RNA from FNA (fine-needle aspiration) slides using Trizol reagent and this protocol is effective in preserving microRNAs

However, the process is time-consuming and takes a minimum of 24 hours. We are now looking to optimize this step using a commercial extraction kit, preferably bead-based, although column-based solutions could also be considered.

The essential requirement is that the RNA fraction must retain microRNAs with high integrity and yield.

Does anyone have experience with or recommend a kit that allows co-extraction of DNA and RNA from slides and effectively preserves microRNAs?

Thanks in advance for your insights!
