Does anyone know where can I find information about 3D filtering?

I want to know if there are filters for 3D images that can erase or reduce the noisy points of a 3D reconstruction system.

Can' you simply filter the tiff-stack before processing it in 3D? For example in ImageJ or with scripting in Photoshop.
