They all were found in Kongsfjorden, Svalbard, ≈79⁰ North in the Barents Sea. The depth was approximately 250-300 meters. The specimens were found in the pelagic zone (≈20 meters from the surface). Other species that were dominant in numbers in the same sample was the amphipod Themisto libellula and a large variety of fish postlarvae (among others Liparidae sp., Cottidae sp., Boreogadus saida, Leptoclinus maculatus, Lumpenus lampretaeformis, Sebastes mantella, Reinhardtius hippoglossoides) and the Hydromedusae Catablema vesicaria.
