I was wondering if anyone knew of any attempts to code the Parent Development Interview for attachment representations, with scales similar to one used to code the AAI, in particular Unresolved attachment representations?
Do you mean the parents' attachment representations regarding their own childhood experiences, or their caregiving representations in relation to the child? If it's the former, I don't think there are enough questions in the PDI relating to the adults' childhood experiences to be able to make such a classification- better to use the AAI. If you mean their caregiving representations in relation to the child, there are several coding systems that could be used (George and Solomon's Caregiving Interview coding, Zeanah's WMCI coding). We have also recently developed a coding system for the PDI that captures features of caregiving representations relating to attachment disorganization (Assessment of Representational Risk). I hope that helps.
