I’m looking for a virus labeling technique, which can label common indicator bacteriophages (like MS2, T4). The labelled viruses can be used as a tracer to study their environmental fates, such as adsorption to soil particles.
One possibility is phage-FISH, an in situ hydridization technique targeting bacteriophages. You can read about it in Allers at al (2013) Single-cell and population level viral infection dynamics revealed by phageFISH, a method to visualize intracellular and free viruses.
