Hello everyone, I have few questions :
I'm newbie in ANSYS Fluent (CFD simulation).
I want to make a simulation of Pool Boiling using PCB as a heater.
Here is my geometry. I set up the heater's material as copper and the rest as aluminium.
I ran the simulation with the Heater Temperature 403K, while the backflow total temperature is Saturation Temperature (373K). I applied the UDF from the ANSYS tutorial (horizontal film boiling) and changed the latent heat as Water Latent heat.
And also I set the Custom Field Functions :
403 - (y-0.05) * 30/0.25
Where Y = 0.05 m, the temperature 403K
Y = 0.25 m, the temperature is 373 (403-373=30K)
I think I need to set another Custom Field Function for the X coordinate, while the heater started at (x,y)= (0.07, 0.05) to (0.23, 0.05), but I have no idea how to set this one.
The result that I have is, there are bubbles but not even one from the heater, where I think should be from the heater.
If you don't mind, please share your experiences and knowledge about this problem. Thank you very much, May GOD reward you more.

Thank you for your answer. I set the custom field functions as written in Horizontal Film Boiling Tutorial (ANSYS FLUENT), they used :
510 - y * 10 / 0.1168
from that equation, as I understood, defined that when y = 0 the temperature (on the heat/wall) is 510 K. While the temperature 0.1168 m from the outlet is 500 (as the T sat).
In my case, my model has a heater, which is located (x = 0.07 and y = 0.05) into (x = 0.23 and y = 0.05). The length of the heater is 0.16 m
I got stuck and confused how to interpret those conditions into custom field functions. I tried :
510 - (y-0.05) * 10 / 0.25
when y = 0.05 the temperature 510 and when y = 0.25 the temperature 500 K
But the result : the bubbles raised from the bottom (y=0) not from the heater.
is it correct if I make the equation like this :
(510 - (y-0.05) * 10 / 0.25) * (510 - (x-0.07) * 10 / 0.23)
i tried to make the condition :
when y = 0.05 and x = 0.07 the temperature = 510K, and
when y = 0.25 and x = 0.23 the temperature = 500 K

in Fluent, select from Define,custom field function. then select the field function you want and select it and start to write the equation you want by clicking and make name for it in new function name and define
