I would like to know if alpha5 and alphaV integrins are activated in endothelial cells upon flow. SNAKA51 seems to activate alpha5 integrins, but I do not know if there is a commercially available antibody that can detect already activated integrins e.g. by flow. and that can be used in WBs or staining.

Hi Julian, to begin with, I am very skeptical about this notion that av integrins (or any other integrins) have to be "activated".
Av integrins have a very short cytoplasmic tail and their extracellular target is a very short peptide sequence, RGD.
I have a paper that shows that av integrin binding to vitronectin RGD is dependent on the cytoskeleton. If the cytoskeleton is not engaged with the integrin cytoplasmic tail there is no adhesion. No "activation" of av integrins is required.
