I just want to ask how to calculate correctly the mass stopping power of muon. Since my result is 1.4 MeV.g-1.cm2, but it is not right if compared to the references: 2 MeV.g-1.cm2
Does anyone have the same problem? Or is there any Professor, Doctor or expert that can help? I don't know what I was doing wrong (I've calculated many times but the results are nearly the same).
The mass stopping power of what material for muons? I imagine it varies by many orders of magnitude depending on the material that is doing the stopping.
You might look at Physics Procedia, Volume 30, p. 42-45. for the low energy case and the references therein.
Also look up TRIM, MARLOWE, and GEANT4 for numeric calculations.
I do not know for which muon energy you did the calculation. However, muon loses energy in the same way of any other massive charged particle (for instance see chapter 2 in C. Leroy and P.G. Rancoita (2011),

In addition, muon loses energy by radiation, which is relevant only at very high energies (at least of the order of 100 GeV). Tables of stopping power for muons are available in http://pdg.lbl.gov/2014/AtomicNuclearProperties/adndt.pdf.
