Exactly, you will need a SSM (Solid Sample Combustion Unit) to analyze samples of oil, checking the calibration should be done with similar standards if the sample is not dry.

Thanks Ming, Thanks Katia, I use SSM. I tried dried sample. The result for IC was good but I couldn't get result for TC most probably because of evaporating of the petroleum hydrocarbons into the carrier gas. This is way I wanted to test the extraction of petroleum into liquid phase.
