I would like to join or create a multicenter study on the usage of gastric ultrasound in the preoperative setting in patients on GLP 1 receptor agonists. Currently the American Society of Anesthesiology advises for the use of gastric ultrasound to evaluate patients on GLP 1 receptor agonists. GLP 1 receptor agonists are known to impair gastric emptying, which puts patient at risk of aspiration in the preoperative setting, even after the recommended fasting period.
