If you're working with human sample, you can give a try at GTex (http://www.gtexportal.org) and look for you favorite genes. I ma surev you can even send a request for several or many genes. It contains many normal human tissues, but no cell lines though.
When I want to check expression of genes in certain cell lines I just look up the cell type on NCBI GEO. Then you can download the table with gene names vs expression metric. Then I compare the ranks.
