I am intended to sequence (via Illumina) viral nucleic acids, including RNA. I was informed that using RNA carrier is not recommended in this case. However, since my samples will have a low biomass, I am afraid that I will not have enough viral RNA without using a carrier. I read that linear acrylamide could be a replacement, but I would prefer to have the opinion from someone who actually used a replacement.
