I need to stain cells those are bound to a surface of microfluidic system. I need a relatively fast staining. The color should be dark and strong so the cells are easily recognizable with microscope.
Though it is difficult to give recommendations without knowing your exact goals and parameters, I would look into MTT tetrazolium. If you search for "colorimetric cell viability mtt microscopy" you'll find a number of kits available (ATCC, Dojindo, etc). You will be able to see the yellow tetrazolium covert to formazan as purple crystals will grow inside any live cells, dead cells will remain yellow. All this can be done under light microscopy.
