Hello, I am currently looking for new insights which give me a better and wider understanding of de- and remyelination processes. I would like to have some statements about pros and cons of different models and how to use them for different aspects/questions.

Find enclosed a Review from Vittorio Gallo addressing the role of glial cells in regeneration and repair. Here you can find a table summarizing different de- and re- myelination animal models. Also I enclosed an old Review of mine which has a chapter regarding the same issue.

Please find attached a fantastic review from J. Merril published in Neuropsychopharmacology reviews. It covers many of the commonly used in vitro/ in vivo models to assess demyelination and remyelination and discusses the advantages/limitations of each.
