You can use a leachable space-holder material for the introduction of the porosity. In this case the concept would be pretty much the same with any other metallic powder.

can you maybe give a few more details about the application you are interested in, and the property profile it requires? I think this might help to determine what could be a useful methol to suggest - though the suggestion of Dr. Tsouknidas is definitely a viable possibility, of course.
